Skills

Each character starts with a number of free skills, depending upon his profession. After this, he may spend any number of his Character Points on skills (each skill costs one CP). The percentage you start at for each new skill depends on your default skill in that skill category, which is listed under your profession. You can raise a skill's percentage by spending CP. 1 CP raises a skill by one percent.

To use a skill, roll d100 against the character's skill percentage. If the roll is below the skill percentage, the character succeeds. The GM can rule that a bonus or penalty should be used if the character is trying something really easy or really hard. Also, characters with very high stats in the related area should be given bonuses; and characters with low stats in those areas should be given penalties. Use the following table:

Ability Score Bonus/Penalty
1-10 -25
11-20 -20
21-30 -15
31-40 -10
41-50 -5
51-60 +0
61-70 +5
71-80 +10
81-90 +15
91-100 +20
