Hobgoblin
Hobgoblin

Physical Characteristics: Hobgoblins are tall, muscular, brown-skinned creatures. They are assumed to be related to goblins, as records show much comman ancestry between the two races, but hobgoblins and their shorter counterparts share few physical qualities. Because of their close relations, though, hobgoblins usually take command of goblin tribes as leaders. They also fit in with orcs, and sometimes even ogres. Hobgoblins grow between five-and-a-half and six-and-a-half feet tall. They weigh between 150 and 250 lbs.

Social Attributes: Perhaps because of their constant bullying of goblins, hobgoblins as a race are extremely egotistical. They always demand leadership, status, and power, even among those clearly more fit to wield it. Actually, hobgoblins believe they are superior to all other races. Because of this, their alliances with other races are shaky at best.

Roleplaying Notes: Hobgoblins should be played as pushy, arrogant, and cruel. They will bully those smaller than they and pick fights with those bigger at every opportunity. They are not suicidal, however: if there is a much bigger creature present, they will try to avoid getting killed by it. For example, around an ogre or dragon, a hobgoblin would still be bossy, just not quite so much as around another hobgoblin or human.
