Gargoyle

Physical Characteristics: Gargoyles are winged, thick-skinned nocturnal terrors. Their bodies are usually sleek and hairless, covered with rubbery gray, brown, red, or green skin. A gargoyle's eyes are always either blood red or abyss black. They stand between three-and-a-half and six feet tall, and weigh from 200 to 500 pounds.

Social Attributes: Scholars continuously debate the origin of this species, but it is currently believed that gargoyles are distant relatives of kobolds. Gargoyles are very quiet and withdrawn, seldom showing any emotion or interacting at all. Once they attain a mission, they do it quickly, silently, and effectively. They are intensely loyal to comrades but open themselves up to none but the oldest of friends.

Roleplaying Notes: Gargoyles have no interest in money, magic, fame, or thrills. Their primary reason to adventure is to accomplish something: perhaps defeat an age-old enemy of theirs or protect a family heirloom. They tend to be single-minded and focus on one thing at a time, so they are great at completing quests but sometimes miss the big picture.
