Physical Characteristics: Dwarves are thick-bodied and muscular creatures. They are usually very short, have ruddy, dark-complexioned skin, and at least some facial hair. A dwarf's average height is about three-and-a-half to four-and-a-half feet tall. They weigh between 170 and 250 pounds.
Social Attributes: Being clannish folk, dwarves value honor and hard work above all else. They are naturally stoic creatures, treating any outward display of emotion as a sign of weakness. After developing a friendship, though, they are loyal until death. Dwarves harbor a natural distrust toward all foreign races (except their cousins, the gnomes), but accept those that prove their loyalty as comrades.
Roleplaying Notes: Adventuring dwarves are usually motivated by honor in some way - they don't like the excitement of adventuring life, and would prefer to live within the mountains alongside their kin. So what is it precisely that causes your character to journey to distant lands and risk his life? A kidnapped clansmen perhaps? A stolen ancient family relic? Keep in mind that after they attain this object, they no longer have a reason to be adventurers, and may decide to return home and retire.
